Recent years have witnessed an increase in scholarly publications and research projects dedicated to the everyday and intellectual exchanges between Jews and Christians in medieval Europe The contribution of Jewish texts to Christian exegesis, as well as to the sciences and the arts, is now well documented. This lecture revisits an important, if little studied question: how exactly did Christian readers access Hebrew texts? In particular, it provides an overview and new evidence for the Christian study of the Hebrew language.
