Professor Weld is the John J. Loeb Professor of the Social Sciences at Harvard University. Her first book, Paper Cadavers: The Archives of Dictatorship in Guatemala (2014), explores the production of history as social knowledge through an analysis of the Guatemalan National Police’s archives. Paper Cadavers was the recipient of the 2015 Washington Office on Latin America-Duke Human Rights Book Award and the 2016 Best Book Award from the Latin American Studies Association’s Recent History and Memory Section.
