SSHRC 2015 Partnership Development Grant - Growing GRASAC: mobilizing Great Lakes indigenous heritage for the 21st century

UTSG Associate Professor Heidi Bohaker has been awarded a SSHRC Partnership Development grant worth $192,454 over two years, for "Growing GRASAC: mobilizing Great Lakes indigenous heritage for the 21st century", with five co-applicants including the Faculty of Information’s Cara Krmpotich, 17 collaborators and three institutional partners: the Woodland Cultural Centre in Brantford, Ontario, Carleton University and Cornell University. The project aims to foster new collaborative research methodologies and projects between university-based based researchers and Great Lakes First Nations/Tribal Council Heritage and Cultural Centres to promote knowledge transfer that will elicit better and richer understandings of Great Lakes Indigenous histories and responses to colonialism.
