Biography

Haihan Jiang's research explores the intersection of spatial history, frontier studies, and environmental history in Manchuria. Her dissertation examines how local actors—farmers, hunters, and merchants—in Qing Manchuria (1820-1930) created alternative networks of resource access that challenged official territorial and administrative orders.
