Description
The Archaeology Centre at the University of Toronto invites you to a special lecture featuring Gabrielle Miller, Program Specialist and Archaeologist at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Join us as Miller discusses the Slave Wrecks Project, an international initiative that investigates the global history and enduring legacies of enslavement across the African diaspora. Through maritime archaeology, this work sheds light on neglected histories, expands access for descendant communities, and explores the material culture of African heritage.
This event is presented by the Archaeology Centre. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with groundbreaking research on slavery, resistance, and historical memory!
