Beverley McLachlin, Canada’s longest-serving Chief Justice (2000-2017), will reflect on the resilience of Canada’s judicial system in the face of rising populism, misinformation, and political polarization. She will discuss the role of the courts in safeguarding democracy, recent legal challenges, and the increasing public scrutiny of judicial independence.

 

This event will feature an audience Q&A session and a book signing of McLachlin’s latest work on judicial ethics.
